BOW WOW Solid Blue Chambray Shirt

Chambray became a fixture of American work and military clothing during the twentieth century. Lightweight, breathable and quick to dry, it was particularly well suited to clothing worn repeatedly in factories, on railroads and at military work sites. Regular washing gradually softened the fabric and altered its colour, giving heavily used chambray shirts much of the character now associated with vintage examples.

BOW WOW's Solid Blue Chambray Shirt takes its cues from work shirts of the 1940s, incorporating an oversized chest pocket, period influenced collar shape and reinforcing elbow patches. The straightforward construction reflects the practical origins of the style, while the exaggerated pocket gives the familiar work shirt silhouette a distinctive proportion.

The fabric is notable for its deep blue colour, with both the warp and weft contributing to the appearance of the cloth. Repeated washing gradually reduces the intensity of the blue, while areas exposed to greater movement and abrasion develop at a different rate.
